Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) Bits use large cylindrical shaped PDC cutters that consist of a layer of micron-sized synthetic diamond particles that are mounted on a tungsten Carbide substrate. Our selection of varying shapes and sizes of PDC cutters help yield a premium combination of powerful penetration rate and a long bit life through a range of different rock formations. The PCD bits are constructed with a tough wear resistant matrix body and gauge reinforcement, with a standard waterway configuration that is a face discharge type.

This bit has a diameter of 4 ¾ Inch or 120.65mm and a 2 ⅜ inch API thread.

Polycrystalline bits use synthetic polycrystalline diamond elements as a cutting media. Like surface-set diamond core drill bits, polycrystalline bits crowns consist of a tough wear resistant matrix that includes polycrystalline gauge protection setting. In softer formations polycrystalline bits are capable of very high rates of penetration when compared to surface-set diamond core drill bits, largely due to their high degree of cutter exposure.

Our Full Faced PCD Bits

Our Full Faced PCD bits are made from a synthetically produced mass of diamonds based on a incidental metal matrix, producing a extremely solid character. The mass is a generation of selected diamond particles, sintered at high pressure. this results in a highly durable and resistant structure.

These PCD bits are used mainly for drilling soft rock such as sandstone, shale and clay. They may not be suitable for drilling fissured or hard rock as they may not bear up against the stress. The grooves of the drill bits are laterally plated or TC fitted in order to grant additional wear protection. Flushing is normally by air or water. The rotation speed is adjusted to the soil conditions and the number of blades.
