Split Tubes

Split tubes, also known as split spoon samplers or split core barrels, are widely used tools in soil sampling operations, particularly in geotechnical and environmental investigations. These tools are a type of sampling equipment that are designed to collect undisturbed soil samples from below the ground surface. They consist of a hollow tube that is divided into two halves lengthwise, allowing for easy extraction of the collected soil sample.

Split tubes are primarily used to collect relatively undisturbed soil samples. The split design of the tube enables the sample to be extracted without significant disturbance to the structure and layering of the soil. This is crucial for accurate analysis of soil properties.
