Conventional coring is a traditional method of taking samples from bottom-hole formations. This method is still the most commonly practiced method in the petroleum industry. The selection of conventional core bits Drill It provides are of the highest quality alloyed steel which allow for high penetration rate and a longer life for the bit.

The T6-76 is built for a T6 Core barrel. The T6-76 is 76mm (3 Inches) wide and produces an inner core of 62mm (2.4 Inches) in dimeter. They are suitable for medium to hard geology. T6 is designed for more challenging drilling conditions and is engineered for higher performance. It also features a double-tube core barrel design but is typically more robust and durable compared to the T2. T6 barrels are designed to handle difficult drilling conditions, including hard rock formations and abrasive materials.

This bit is part of the Falcon 8 Series. The Falcon 8 is forged with the diamond very exposed from the bit matrix, meaning this series of Coring Bit is built for medium to medium hard formations, making it more effective for drilling through rocks such as Sandy Limestone, Sandy Shale, Claystone and Limestone.

Drill-Its Falcon set of drill bits are our range of standard conventional coring tools, meaning it they use Core Barrel Drill-Line Inner Tube Plastic Liner consisting of a clear, thin-wall extruded rigid plastic tube of which by accurate manufacturing processes is manufactured to close tolerances on both the outside and the inside diameters. Clearance between the O.D. of the “Drill-Line'' and I.D. of the Core Barrel inner tube is therefore carefully controlled and allows easy fitting of the Plastic Tube into the inner tube in the field. When the clear plastic material is used (inserted) it will not contaminate the Core sample during drilling and encapsulation. The material does not absorb water and will not swell or change shape.

Selecting The Right Bit

Please refer to the following graphs to establish if the bit you are purchasing is right for the job.. The following graphs demonstrate what series of core drill bit and what drill bit profile would be appropriate for differing rock formations.

Falcon Coring Bits

The Drill-It collection of Falcon coring tools are a range of premium coring drill bits that are specifically engineered for Standard usage. Designed with the user in mind, they are capable of meeting a wide variety of challenging rock drilling conditions faced around the world.

These impregnated diamond core bits are usually used for exploration drilling when it’s necessary to drill through the hardest rock formations possible, as well as less hard materials. Impregnated diamond core bits are more frequently used for exploratory drilling than any other bit. The benefits are many, with lasting longer before wearing out in hard rocks formations is perhaps the best reason.
