Falcon 2 - T2-116 Impregnated Core Drill Bit - Standard

Conventional coring is a traditional method of taking samples from bottom-hole formations. This method is still the most commonly practiced method in the petroleum industry. The T2-116 is built for a T2 Core barrel. The T2 core barrel is also a double tube core barrel with the inner tube mounted on bearings. It has a sturdier design making it more adapted for working in all types of terrains. The drilling diameter is 116mm or 4.5 Inches wide and produces an inner core of 93mm (3.66 Inches) in dimeter.

This bit is part of the Falcon 2 Series. The Falcon 2 is forged with the diamond embedded in the bit matrix, meaning this series of Coring Bit is built for vey soft formations, making it more effective for drilling through rocks such as hard Clay, Soft Shale, Chalk, Soft Limestone and Volcanic Tuff.

Drill-Its Falcon set of drill bits are our range of standard conventional coring tools, meaning it they use Core Barrel Drill-Line Inner Tube Plastic Liner consisting of a clear, thin-wall extruded rigid plastic tube of which by accurate manufacturing processes is manufactured to close tolerances on both the outside and the inside diameters. Clearance between the O.D. of the “Drill-Line'' and I.D. of the Core Barrel inner tube is therefore carefully controlled and allows easy fitting of the Plastic Tube into the inner tube in the field. When the clear plastic material is used (inserted) it will not contaminate the Core sample during drilling and encapsulation. The material does not absorb water and will not swell or change shape.
