Our Steeltooth Tricone Bits
At Drill-it we strive for the best, and would be unhappy with anything less and we hope our customers feel the same. Thats why our steeltooth tricone drill bits are just that and more.
Strong, durable, with high rates of penetratrion and a long life, these bits are perfect for all kinds of senarios.
The go-to solution for well digging from simple water wells to industrial scale oil Field applications. The main benefit of using a Tricone is that you can make it and design it to work for you. Each Tricone has its own IADC code which changes and varies based on ground formations i.e. IADC code 1.1.1 will be a Steel Toothed Tricone used in soft formations

Selecting The Right Bit
Please refer to the following graphs to establish if the bit you are purchasing is right for the job.. The following graphs demonstrate what series of core drill bit and what drill bit profile would be appropriate for differing rock formations.
IADC Codes
IADC codes are a standardized way to classify and describe tricone (or rotary) drill bits used in the drilling industry. These codes help drilling professionals identify the specific type of tricone bit they need for a particular drilling application. The IADC code typically consists of four characters and provides information about the bit's design, cutting structure, and bearing/seal system.
- First Character (Formation Type)
- Second Character (Bit Profile)
- Third Character (Bit Type)
- Fourth Character (Additional Features and Special Designations)
For example, an IADC code like "537" might indicate a tricone bit designed for drilling in very hard formations (5), with a TCI bit profile (3), featuring sealed roller bearings (7).
